How Many Pallets Fit in a Container?
HOW MANY PALLETS CAN BE LOADED IN A 20′ and 40′ CONTAINER?
What is Euro Pallet?
Euro pallets are pallets that meet the standards specified by the European Pallet Association and are available in 80×120 cm, 100×120 cm, 120×100 cm and 60×80 cm types. The commonly used 80×120 cm Euro pallet consists of 80 pieces of wood, weighs approximately 35 kg, has a distributed load carrying capacity of 45.234 dm3 and 1500 kg.
Euro Pallet Dimensions:
Euro pallet dimensions: Width 80 cm x Length 120 cm
Standard pallet dimensions: Width 100 cm x Length 120 cm
Container Dimensions
20’DC container dimensions: Length 5.90 cm x Width 2.35 cm x Height 2.39 cm
40’DC container dimensions: Length 12.00 cm x Width 2.35 cm x Height 2.39 cm
40’HC/HQ container dimensions: Length 12.00 cm x Width 2.35 cm x Height 2.69 cm
11 Euro pallets or 10 standard pallets in a single row, non-stackable, can be loaded into a 20′ container.
24 Euro pallets or 21 standard pallets can be loaded into a 40′ container in a non-stackable single row.
Loading into 20′ and 40′ containers is not only related to the space occupied by the cargo.
Tonnage constraint is another important factor. If the product weight is low, it is possible to do two-storey loading with additional precautions and equipment.
On the other hand, if the product weight is high, this may also reduce the number of pallets that can be loaded.
Additionally, highway tonnage limits on 20′ and 40′ container transfer routes should also be taken into consideration.
